We opened Our Mutual Friend Brewing in December of 2012 with the goal of creating a place for community through our small neighborhood taproom in the River North (RiNo) neighborhood at 2810 Larimer Street. Starting on a 31-gallon brew system, we worked tirelessly to understand the techniques and history of beer while looking forward to where craft beer was heading. Doing so influenced our vision to create beers with a sense of place, forging relationships with Colorado hop and barley growers and leading us into offering as many 100% Colorado grown beers as possible. In 2015 we earned a silver medal in the wood and barrel aged sour category at the Great American Beer Festival for 24FPS, a 100% Colorado mixed-culture fermentation Barrel-Aged Sour Beer and have thence won silver medals for a collaboration with Cerebral Brewing (Dreamy Thing, 2016) and Saison Trystero (2017), both in the Brett Beer Category, as well as a gold at the 2018 World Beer Cup (Saison Trystero).
In 2019 we continue our organic growth on a seven-barrel brew system, increasing capacity to meet demand and offer traditional styles while still being afforded the opportunity for experimentation. We now produce beers specifically designed for release at our brewery and move almost the entirety of our beer across our bar. We brew beers that we want to drink in a space that we want to spend time in and we aim to be a space where everyone in our community feels safe and welcome. We hope to see you at 28th and Larimer throughout the year or at our two main festivals at our brewery, Gratitude and our Anniversary Party. Cheers!
